Organic food export can transform economy

Organic food can transform the economy in several ways:
  1. Job creation: Organic farming creates more jobs than conventional farming, both in agriculture and related industries like processing and distribution.
  2. Local economic growth: Organic farming tends to focus on local markets, keeping money within the community and stimulating local economic growth.
  3. Premium prices: Organic products often command higher prices, increasing revenue for farmers and related businesses.

Clean water helps keep kids in school, especially girls.

Less time collecting water means more time in class. Clean water and proper toilets at school means teenage girls don’t have to stay home for a week out of every month.
Our industrial development can play an important role in our economy. It has a valuable contribution to make our economy and to the attainment of certain specific objectives. Among these will be production of consumer goods, the local processing of African raw material and the utilization of Africa’s natural resources in those lines of economic activity where a large volume of investment is required.

How do we tackle the water crisis?

We work with local experts and community members to find the best sustainable solution in each place where we work, whether it’s a well, a piped system, a BioSand Filter, or a system for harvesting rainwater. And with every water point we fund, our partners coordinate sanitation and hygiene training, and establish a local Water Committee to help keep water flowing for years to come.
